Some very targeted DNA analysis carried out on my brothers YDNA has revealed that we originate from this area. Does anyone have any information about this mysterious chap? We know that he married a Jane Gay (daughter of Mathew Gay) who was also from the same town/area. He is my great (x6) grandfather. His children immigrated to New Zealand. Many of his descendants (some of which may be on here) have struggled to find any information on this man.
