I need your help... I have not found concrete proof of the ancestry of my Mary Douglas.  Mary Douglas was my 7th GGmother.  She married John Kimbrough and they came to America with 3 children.  Unproven is her ancestry.  Robert Douglas is listed as her father, however there are Many many Robert Douglas's.  Do these names ring a bell with anyone and can anyone help... please.. my trip to Scotland is in 4 months and I would love to have some sort of a lead...

There was an Inventory of John Willett.s estate one month following its Administration. William Willett, only child of John and Elizabeth Willett, was apecifically named in the Inventory as the sole benefactor.

Capt William Willett was ten years of age when his father, John Willett, passed away, and his mother, Elizabeth Douglas Willett, fled the country. It was his grandmother, Isabella Dale and her, then, husband, Rev Thomas Teackle, who provided William Willett with their home until he was of age to accept his inheritance of the Dale plantation. William is listed in the Tithables of 1779-1782 as being in the home of Rev Teackle, Northampton Co. I am sure the Order Books for Northampton Co show…

I decided to search for Edward Douglas and give his family name a second S. On occasion Edward did use the double S but not on his will. I was suspicious of the Norfolk family as no shred of evidence had been presented.and

I found in Scotland evidence of father and son . At least I think I did.

James David Douglas asked if George Douglas of Accomack Co, Virginia was related to our Edward. No. I believe that line has been traced back to its origins. James David asked me about Thomas Hunt. I am a direct descendant of Thomas HuntIII, will 1719, Northampton Co, by his 2) wife Smart Tankred. Smart  Hunt, widow of Thomas Hunt, mar William Webb. It so happens Thomas and Smart named their first son, Hillary. I descend from Thomas Hunt IV, his second son.

Continuing with the Stringer connection-When Mary Stringer married William Smart she placed her children by Lt Col William Andrews with different families. I have already provided the placements of Mary and Ann Andrews in appropriate homes.
