Some tidbits:
• The Castle Campbell Hall was built by William Drysdale in 1820 as a woollen mill. In 1865 it was converted into a meeting hall and was known as the Volunteer Hall.
• members of the Archibald, Paton and Drysdale families were successful in establishing increasingly large
mills in Menstrie, Alva and, especially, Tillicoultry.
• Drysdale, W.,1899. Old Faces, Old Places and Old Stories of Stirling, Mackay, John G. Harrison 118 Stirling

• there is international interest in the family name of ‘Dollar’. Said to be descendants of John Dollar, the Dollar Foundling, was Baptised ‘Dollar’ on 30th July 1742. Margaret Drysdale, wife of James Sorley, looked after the baby, who grew up in Dollar.
• ...goods sold in Drysdale’s shop in 1900 (in Dollar)
Charles Vickery Drysdale, was a Eugenicist, His type here in America labled Native Americans and their descendants as Negro, Virginia's registrar of vital statistics at the time, Walter Plecker [also a Eugenicist] changed untold numbers of Natives records. This man met with and communicated with members of the Nazi party, while serving as Commonwealth of Virginia's Registrar. This white supremacy view was not singular to Virginia, ''clubs'' sharing similar views popped up all around the USA.
I am sure Bessie Drysdale as CVDrysdale's wife shared his every view.
Drysdale House, Geelong, Australia
The circa 1891 house was built at 69 Fyans St, Newtown before it was relocated to form part of the Australian House Museum in front of Deakin University in Waurn Ponds in 1984. The historic house was then relocated to 122 High St, Drysdale in 2004 and has since been renovated and restored, transforming it into a beautiful home.
The house was built by the Herd family, who were painters, decorators and plumbers, before the 1892 depression.
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
